CARC Meetings

Locked Doors

Note: due to after hours security concerns at both locations please plan to bring an HT in order to call for assistance with entry if needed - Someone will be posted at the door to let you in up until the meeting starts. After that you will need to call on 146.520 or call or text Shawn 307-262-4757, Tate 307-277-6199 for entry. (ie. don't be late)

Regularly Scheduled Meetings

Regular meetings of the Casper Amateur Radio Club are held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 1900hrs local.

Business Meeting

The first meeting of each month is the business meeting. Held on the 1st Wed of each month. We discuss current plans, hold votes, pay bills, discussions on new business and more. These meetings are held at the McKinley Annex at 1038 Foster Road. Parking is available on the West side of the building, which is also the front of the building.

Location is The McKinley Annex.

Easiest way to get to the new Business Meeting location is:

  1. - At the street light of North Poplar and English Ave, go West up the hill. (Away from the Dairy Queen.)
  2. - At the top of the hill is a pipe yard, turn right. to go up the hill some more.
  3. - The McKinley Annex is the last building on the right. If you get up to the "T" intersection/jail, You have gone to far.

Those that choose to, may gather at one of the local 'eateries' afterwards for "Pie and Coffee". Sometimes called a 'McDonald session' after one of our SKs. Bruce McDonald, KF7CFY often enjoyed pie and ice-cream after the meetings.

Activity Meeting

NOTE: Until further notice, all activity meetings will also be held at the WMC Support Services Building. Same room as the business meetings.  Details here 

The second meeting (held on the 3rd Wed of the month) is usually held at the same time but at the EOC located in the "hall of justice" 201 N David - 2nd floor. Map and Directions - but may vary. Since this is an 'activity' meeting, the needs of the activity may dictate the location. Check the Meeting Forum of the discussion board for updates. Check the discussion board or ask on the .940 or .280 repeaters - most any time.

For meetings at the EOC, at least one of the elevators from the main lobby will be "unlocked" to stop on the second floor. Just take an elevator to the second floor and go through the door directly across the room from the elevators (heading North) and down the hallway. The EOC is on the right (East) side of the hallway a few doors down the hall.

Talk in Frequency

Meeting "talk in" is on 145.235- (100hz tone) if you're a ways out or 146.520 simplex if you close in or downtown. You may also find someone on 449.575+ (173.8 hz tone).

If you don't yet have your license or can't use the repeaters for any reason, post your desire to meet on the discussion board in the Meetings Forum. We'll make arrangements.

Who can attend?

We always welcome anyone interested in learning about amateur radio, finding out how to get licensed, or just curious about what us "hams" do. Of course any and all licensed operators are welcome and encouraged to get involved!

Password Restricted Info

The passwords for access to the following areas are available to all club members in good standing. They're changed every year - usually early January. If you don't have the current password, contact any of the club officers. Please, do not share passwords with anyone. Thanks!
